Simplify Your Life...

Simplify Your Life... Here's how:

1. Get up 30 minutes earlier:You'll be surprised how this little addition of time can start your whole day better.

2. Be 20 minutes early for meetings: It's hard to be late when you're planning to get there early, and it'll let some of the pressure off. You'll also have time to smooth out your thoughts and think about what you'd like to say.

3. One thing at a time: Don't be fooled by those around you who brag they can do it all. Everyone has a problem concentrating on several tasks at once or even paying attention to one while thinking of another. Try to prioritize on the most urgent issues. Finish it and then move on to the next. You'll be surprised how much faster and more efficient you are at problem solving when you're solving one problem at a time.

4. Ask yourselves some questions: Stop yourselves from time to time and ask: "Am I making things more complicated?" and "how can I simplify the problem?". Sometimes we miss simple solutions because we don't stop to look around us.

5. Ask yourselves: "Will this still matter in five years?" Most of the time, it won't even matter in 5 months or even 5 weeks. If you find yourselves facing a mountain, maybe check that it's not a molehill.

6. Write down everything: There is no memory that doesn't 'leak' from time to time. The few minutes you spend writing things down will be worth having those things out of your head and memory, resulting in less pressure.

7. Remember that there is something greater than yourselves: We don't know everything, nor are we always right. There are always going to be causes bigger than ourselves.

8. Enjoy the simple things: Sometimes we need to stop, shut our eyes tightly, and then open them again, you will see things in a different light.

9. Drink a glass of water: Water is the essence of life.

10. Kindness is a blessing returned: Be kind to others, and have Grace.

11. Simplify your life by simplifying your home: A cluttered house is a cluttered mind, some say. Try and keep a place for everything in your house, keep it clean and tidy. It may seem unrelated, but a clean house makes us feel good about ourselves and helps us concentrate on what's important.

12. Stop, find and smell the roses: Instead of jumping from thing to thing, try taking some extra time with certain tasks, relationships, work and personal projects. That extra time will give you confidence and help you discover things you may miss when you're rushing about.

13. Spend some quality time with people who are worth your time: time is precious, and you want to be with genuine people.

14. Ask advice from those who have been there: When you encounter a problem, remember that most of them are not new, why re-invent the wheel?

15. Forget about perfection: Don't try to do everything perfectly, you'll probably not succeed. Let go of the illusion of perfection and focus on what you have that is good and true.

16. Take a breath of fresh air a few times a day: Like a smoker on smoke breaks, take breaks to go out and get some fresh air. You'll be surprised how quickly those anxious thoughts can die down while you take a minute to disconnect from anxiety and reconnect with the world around you.

17. Take 60 minutes on the weekend to plan your week: Weekends are a great time to relax and take a little time to plan out what you are going to do this week. Make a list. It will help you remember and you'll feel more calm dealing with the coming week's challenges.

18. Have a glass of wine and be calm.

19. Have a lazy day: If you can simplify your lives a bit, you may find out you have some spare time. Take some of it to relax, you deserve a little laziness.

20. Remember its okay to have those Woosah Moments, tell them your Realtor Tanya Dollars says its ok:))

7 Great Dog Breeds for Families with Kids
Tips &Tricks image Almost every family will benefit from getting a dog. Canine family members can provide companionship, humor, and unconditional love for everyone in your household. Of course, different dog breeds have different temperaments, and some dogs tend to do better in homes with children than others. Here is a look at seven breeds to consider making a new member of your family if you have kids.

1. Golden Retriever - It's no wonder that these easygoing, playful companions are well known for being great family dogs. Gentle and good-natured, golden retrievers tend to be kind to just about everyone they meet. One important thing to note, however, is that goldens are full of energy, so you need to keep an eye on them and make sure they don't accidentally knock down very young children.

2. Labrador Retriever - The most popular dog breed in the United States, Labrador retrievers are adaptable and easily trainable as long as you give them plenty of exercise. These silly pups are known for their love of fun, which is one reason why they tend to be great around kids. Labs are usually very patient as well, which helps them put up with children poking and prodding them.

3. English Bulldog - Docile and even-tempered, bulldogs make great family pets. Their stockiness makes them very resilient to child-inflicted abuse and makes them good partners for roughhousing. The breed actually has a reputation for having a "sixth sense" about protecting children, and they make great companions for little ones.

4. Poodle - No matter what size of dog you're looking for, there's a poodle to suit you--these dogs come in standard, miniature, and toy varieties. In general, standard and miniature poodles are known for being best with children. They have enough energy that they will enjoy playing, but they are also sensitive enough to avoid being too rough. Poodles are also one of the most hypoallergenic dog breeds you can find, so they are an excellent choice for kids with allergies.

5. Beagle - This friendly breed is one of the few smaller dogs that does especially well with children. Beagles will never lack the energy to run around the yard with your kids, but they are also lovable lapdogs. A beagle will relish being a member of your family, and will always be ready to give you lots of love. They are an excellent breed to teach your kids about the joys of having a pet.

6. Saint Bernard - Known for being gentle giants, the bond between kids and Saint Bernard's was immortalized in the movie Peter Pan. These enormous dogs know how to be careful around children, and they are very patient with little ones. Just make sure that your tots realize they can't try to ride your dog like a horse.

7. Irish Setter - Like all dogs bred for sporting, Irish setters love to be around people, and they are known for their gentle and sociable dispositions. These clever pups love toys and games, and they have fun playing with rambunctious kids. You should realize, however, that Irish Setters often don't know their own strength, and they may knock down little ones if they get overexcited. While these breeds are all well-suited for families with kids in general, it's important to remember that every individual dog is going to be different. Make sure to involve your kids in the process of picking out the right dog for you so that you can see if the animal you're considering actually gets on well with your children in particular. With proper training, almost any dog can learn to get along with little ones, but choosing one of these breeds is a great first step.

Bathroom Remodeling: How to Refinish Your Sink

Bathroom Remodeling: How to Refinish Your Sink

Bathroom Remodeling: How to Refinish Your Sink
Tips &Tricks image While some spend hundreds replacing their old, tarnished sinks, frugal do-it-yourselfers know they can beautify their existing sink by adding a colorful, glossy finish. Unfortunately, when inexperienced amateurs try to refinish a sink, they end up with finish failure in the form of flaking. Learn the proper way to condition the sink for adequate adhesion, or flaking is bound to result.

Cleaning - Sinks tend to accumulate a lot of soap scum and grime. If you try to apply a new finish directly over these residues, poor adhesion will cause peeling. Scrub the sink with a trisodium phosphate cleanser before beginning the application process, or expect finish failure at some point in the future.

Abrasion - Sinks are too smooth to support a lasting finish. Combat this by scouring the sink with 100-grit sandpaper. Continue until the sink feels rough. Once the sink is thoroughly abraded, it will hold primer and enamel.

Masking - Cover all adjacent surfaces, using masking paper and painter's masking tape. The refinishing process will generate a lot of over spray. Be thorough, or stains may result.

Finishing - Even abraded sinks won't hold a new finish. Before you apply the final finish, add a light coat of acrylic spray primer. Once the primer has dried for three hours, apply a finish coat of acrylic spray enamel. For flawless results, hold an 8-inch space between the sink and spraying nozzle tip. Don't use the finished sink for at least three hours.
